Dream LightIn this project we worked on three lanterns. We interviewed three people, a elementary first grader, a community member, and a senior citizen. Out of those interviews we designed three lanterns, the first side was a symbol (something that represented our person like a toy that held meaning to them or a scenery that held precious memories). The second side was a quote, something that struck us from the interview. The third side was a creative choice we were able chose something that we wanted to put on it, and the fourth side was our math construction. In this project we worked in groups of three. In my group it was Natalya, Mafer, and me.. The project in all went pretty smoothly, well in the beginning we had a little bumpy start because one of our members would usually be talking with our other class mates instead of helping us. But them we talked to her and told her to help us and she did. I don't really think we had any specific area where we could grow on because we all got along really well.
Reading Fahrenheit 451, it was a really interesting and unique book that i would have probably never read on my own. This book really did give me a new perspective on people, it did get me curious about people and inspired some questions for the person who i got to inter view.. The human connection task it also gave a another curiosity about us, about humans and made me wonder about what other people had done or just thought about society now a days or about their childhoods and hardships and so on. I mean every person has their own story to tell. Humanities did help me in a way with this project because it helped me interact with people that i didn't even know, it made wonder more about them and it also made me be more sociable something I'm really not. For physics i was able to learn how light and and voltage work. We were able to learn how to put the circuits together. We were able to struggle and figure things out., we learned how to safer and how the electricity runs through the wires and how to cut it and that there are two types of circuits. In Spanish we wrote our artist statements in Spanish but shine I'm a Spanish speaker and know how to read and write Spanish it was pretty easy for me. Mr. Jessie made me check the non Spanish speakers artist statements and edit their mistakes. That was also a lot of practice for me. Exhibition was really fun but at the same a little bit difficult you could say. I mean our final products came out really cool but the problem was that we were put at the very back and not a lot of people really came to talk to us. But i say my group did pretty well and from a 1 to 10 i did we did around a 9 because we all put out part in it and put a lot of effort too. |
