Now for some history
In this project it wasn't a group we were working with it was a partner ship, and my partner was Joseph. In the court case project i think it went pretty well and that shows improvement in collaboration from previous work i've done because, me and Joseph both did research and discussed about our court case. We also brained stormed about what our visual should be and when we both agreed on something we made some drafts on scratch paper until we were both satisfied. In all i think we collaborated pretty well with each other, but an era of collaboration where i could grow would be in
The court case me and Joseph were working on was about a school in 1998. Lindsay and Daniel’s family were against one of their school’s rules in Oklahoma, and sued them for “violating” the kid’s 4th amendment. The rule is that when a student in that high school wanted to participate in a competitive extracurricular they had to give a sample of urine, the school has to always test them for for drugs. .The court ruled in the family's favor and testing for drugs was banned for about 4 years but the case was brought up again to the supreme court on march 19 2002 by the school that they wanted to get that policy back because they kept on having suspicions of their students but the court did not allow them to bring it back because they had to give their students some privacy. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the exhibition held at school for this project but over all I think our piece was pretty good. Me and hopes put a lot of work and time into this project and it was fun. Even though some times our work didn't come out the way we wanted it to come out as we tried and tried until we were satisfied. Me and Joseph both had turns in taking the work home and adding a least some thing to it, fortunately none of us lost it. It was all our work and nobody else's we both did a original work. A connection I have with this case is that not long ago I read some books that had to do with law and they were very interesting and on October 17 my class went to a court house in San Diego. We were able to experience being in a actual live Hearing. I do wonder though if the court would have ruled since the first hearing on the schools side what the parents and kid would have done? I mean if they didn't like the rule that much why not move somewhere, where they didn't have that rule. |
